I joined the local Women's Institute, it is currently a small group of older ladies meeting at lunchtime once a month. They welcomed me and my ideas to rejuvinate the group with open arms, so next year I will be running an evening craft night each month to try and encourage younger ladies to join and to keep the long standing village WI running. We meet in a lovely village hall
January will be a taster night with make and takes, displays and the opportunity to join on the night then in February we will have cup cake decorating. I'm trying to get everything ready to present my ideas at the next meeting.
Kate and I have been taking part in a circle journal at Pickleberry, we all finished last week and everyone seemed pleased with their books
The days are so much shorter now, the hens put themselves to bed about 4pm and not all of them lay every day. They are so funny when they follow me about, they even came into the porch looking for treats
We are busy making sure that the animals are all ready for winter with extra bedding and insulation to try and keep them dry and warm. We have the old 4x4 truck back on the road ready for any snow and the log pile is growing. I can't wait until spring!
Your WI is in for a treat with you in charge of craft night!! You've inspired me... I'm joining the new chapter of the WI here at their next meeting. They meet in Whitstable Castle and have just formed so they're open to a lot of new ideas.
I just wish I had a fraction of your energy and creativity. Amazing what a "few" years in age makes. At least that's what I'm blaming it on.
Love the chicken pic! Those old girls don't know how good they've got it there.
