I taught just a few classes over the summer holidays, I didn't want to take on much just in case there was some great weather and the chance of a few days away. There wasn't. I did get to teach while I was in Mykonos though, Elina invited a few friends for the weekend and we had great fun introducing them to paper crafting.
I showed them how to make a paper bag book, great for them because just about every shop in the town uses paper carrier bags so they can make up different size albums if they keep their used bags (or manage to scrounge them from the shops!)
I have yet to stick any photographs in mine, I'll probably print all of Georgina's photos from Facebook of her and her friends over the summer. There are lots of tags and inserts, so plenty of space to use.
I loved the botanical themed papers from 7 Gypsies when they came in at Pickleberry and used them they day they were delivered! I had some slide mailers from years ago, found when I was clearing out at home. I was to teach this as a class but stupidly booked it in the weekend I was away so Kate stepped in and saved my bacon.
It's a great sample to have of lots of techniques, all of the pages and collage are from the same 8"x8" pad of paper, I think they will be great for altered books and collage etc.
There are still two places left for the printer's tray weekend in November, I had a panic yesterday when I remembered we have two wedding ceremonies to attend that month and thought I had booked the same weekend but thankfully they don't clash.
There is a family wedding at St Paul's Cathedral one weekend then a Hindu ceremony for the same couple the following weekend where I will be wearing a sari. I don't own a dress or a skirt, not even smart trousers so there's some shopping to do. Not something high up the list of my favourite pastimes. I live in jeans and combats, t-shirts and hoodies, I think the last time I bought a dress was for Alexander's christening and he will be 20 years old in November! He's back at Uni for his second year but has been training over the summer holidays between working full time at the local McDonalds to pay the rent on his house.
They finished their week in Devon on an assault course in some horrible weather - it's character building!
