I have been trying to draw faces in my art journal with very little success, in fact the kindest way to describe them is 'abstract'. After a few searches on the 'net I signed up for an online course with SuziBlu, I like her style and thought I could manage to draw something similar. It's week two now, I haven't had time to watch all of the tutorials but I sat out in the sunshine this morning and drew two faces before colouring them with water colour pencils.
I'm reasonably happy with them but have yet to draw any bodies or something smaller to fit in my art journal.
I'm enjoying time at the studio and teaching a few classes at Pickleberry. The art journal course has finished and I was over the moon when the girls all decided they wanted to keep coming back. We have decided to have an art journal club meeting on the first Tuesday of each month so we can get together and share ideas (and stash)
This is another of my pages, I have quite a few half finished, with far too many ideas in my head and not enough time to get them down onto paper.
I'm enjoying the sunshine although it does distract me from working, I have a bag permanently packed ready for a quick escape to the outdoor pool or the beach. Just a cossie, towel, book and bottle of water, along with my sun lounger.
I bought tickets for the theatre today to go and see War Horse. I got great seats in the fifth row stalls but I think I may need to take tissues, just the trailer made me teary!

Wowza, Jane! I'm very impressed with your drawings of faces. Fabulous, really.
Love the drawings!
War Horse - yes, take a whole box of tissues! I saw it a couple of months ago & cried like a baby, you really do believe in the horse puppets within minutes of their being on stage. You will love it, but it's very draining emotionally.
