I got the key to my studio on Friday but with the dog at the vet and teaching at Greenwich I didn't get started until yesterday. My first job was to change the colour of the walls from mint green to a soft yellow. Alexander and Georgina came to help, it was like working with Laurel and Hardy. Paint dripped everywhere, Georgina standing in the roller tray and Alexander having difficulty working out where the wall finished and the ceiling started. They got the hang of it with more practice, maybe with some more lessons I can send them out to work soon.
I forgot my camera so took a couple of snaps with my phone
We did two coats and left them overnight to dry. This morning we went back to put some patterned paper bunting around the top of the wall, an idea I had seen in a book called 'where women create'. Both of them took turns gluing and sticking.
I wasn't too sure when we got half way round, especially as Georgina hated it and said it looked like a nursery but I went with it, I think once the furniture is in place and there are more splashes of colour in the room it will all pull together. If it doesn't I still have some yellow paint left.
Helen and her family turned up for a quick visit and were quickly roped in, we built four Expedit units and moved in my plan chest, I want to cover the floor but until the dog is better and the vets bills are finished I think I had better hang on. I forgot to take photographs before we left, we were all very hungry and aching.
Love the bunting - I think it will look awesome. I may have to borrow it as an idea when I get my creative space together :-D

I love the bunting. What a great idea for using up some paper.
Hope your dog is OK and the bill isn't too expensive.

Oh,I love that bunting idea, too. I have both issues of that magazine and must have missed that. Back to have another look! Thanks.
